Ranges across Africa (Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Tanzania), with a lifespan of about a year or less.  Natural coloration is white and black, artistic license applied here.  

Painted using artist grade watercolors on archival watercolor paper, typically framed under museum-quality glass with archival matting and boards.
